6 Ways We Grew + Scaled Parker Management
If you’ve listened to my full story, you may know that I thought I would simply “manage a few creators.” I really didn’t know the potential of what was in front of my until I got started. My small idea turned into a big one, the moment I realized that the possibilities were endless. And guess what? To this day, I still believe that. Hence, why The Studio is launching. There are opportunities all around us, we just need to be able to see them and then be strategic once we get started.
In looking back at our growth and success at Parker, these are the top 6 most important things we did:
We were clear on what was missing and chose to do things differently. At the time I started Parker Management, there were quite a few management companies people could choose from, however, I felt like there wasn’t a warm, friendly, boutique-feel company. I wanted to highlight creators using their platforms in a positive, uplifting way and we went and carved out our own little corner based on what we saw was missing.
We hired great employees. For us, it was less about the experience and more about the desire to work with us/the personality fit. That is how we initially hired. That first step in hiring an employee is a scary one, especially when you really don’t know how much you are even going to make yourself. I am forever thankful for those first few hires- they helped me believe in the power of hiring the right people and how that is your best way to grow and scale.
We focused on branding. Strong aesthetic and branding is key, in my opinion. It helps you show up confidently and professionally. From our website to our social media, I truly believe we put our best foot forward with our branding and it paid off.
Provide exceptional service and let that referral speak for itself. Referrals have been imperative to our growth. There is nothing more powerful than a good word from our managed talent to their friends. Providing a great experience is something we constantly try to enhance and ensure we nail. It really has been the backbone to our growth.
Let your employees have a say. Listening to our teams ideas and having so many of their thoughts and ideas come to life, has really ensured that we expand our business from the lens of different views, while also keeping them engaged and connected to the company.
Be generous and invest wisely. Even when the company wasn’t as profitable, we have always been generous with funds and business investments. I strongly believe that what you put out there, comes back around!
Happy business scaling!
